Here is a great opportunity if you:
- Deliver training to colleagues at work
- Want to improve your presentation skills
- Deliver teaching or training sessions to small local community or social groups
Who is the course aimed at?
This course is ideal for individuals who wish to learn at their own time and pace and is equally suitable for groups who are sponsored by their employers to carry out the training.
Why not apply for a certificate that recognises your trainer skills as part of your Continuing Professional Development?
What can you achieve?
Once you have completed the course you have two options:
Option 1: To achieve the City & Guilds accredited 7300 Introduction to Trainer Skills
Option 2: To achieve the City & Guilds 7574 accredited IT User Award
You can work towards 1 or both options.
There are 6 online Modules covering topics relating to the Training Cycle. You will learn about the fundamentals of how adults learn and how the learning can be put into practice. Find out how to create and deliver a structured plan. See how to produce good resources and visual aids, how to build and maintain a positive learning environment. Discover ways to check that people have learned and how to support learners as they progress.
How do I learn?
This multimedia interactive course will help you develop your skills so you are able to deliver effective training. As it is an online course you can access it at any time and work at your own pace. We suggest it takes 9-12 hours to complete the online study however additional time is required to gather the evidence for whichever option you decide to take.
How do I get a certificate?
Having worked through the short online course you make a choice:
Option 1: You need to show evidence you can plan a short session of 15-20 minutes in length. You then prepare and deliver this session to a small group. This delivery needs to be observed. Contact me to arrange an observation. In addition, you complete a short online multiple-choice test. You receive immediate feedback on the micro teach session and the online test. If all goes well you can achieve City & Guilds 7300 Introduction to Trainer Skills certificate.
Option 2: Having worked through the online course you may prefer to simply demonstrate the IT skills you use in your role as a trainer. You prepare a plan to deliver to a small group and carry out 7 guided tasks showing how to use MS Word and MS Powerpoint. If all goes well you can achieve City & Guilds 7574 IT User Award at Level 2.
You can undertake Option 1 or 2 or both – it’s up to you.
Bob Orr Training works closely with DawsonLoane, an approved City & Guilds centre, and they provide the online portfolio and the quality assurance processes.
